Mainstream

So at the gathering I was like, "lol Gurren Wagann isn't really mainstream."

And this other chick was like, "Pssh, yeah it is, it's on American TV."

And so I replied with, "It isn't mainstream unless people dance to it."

I only consider something mainstream if it's on Cartoon Network/Adult Swim or prime time. Also Shounen Jump status 8| You could also go up to any weeaboo and asked if they've heard of it. When I get people asking me, "So who are you cosplaying as?" then it doesn't strike me as mainstream. You can grab a Naruto or Inuyasha cosplayer and know what anime they're some because they're mainstream.
